Sandra,

Visit various gift basket websites and make note of who designed them. Their links are usually at the bottom of the home page. If you like the design, chances are the designer is talented in working with gift basket websites.

Lorie,

You're so right about the importance of checking out links on our websites.

It's a mystery to me how they get broken, but they do, so we must check links, as well as our commerce systems frequently. It's far better for us to catch the problems than lose a customer who leaves our site out of frustration.

To help gift basket designers with their websites I recently wrote a free e-course called How to Dramatically Improve Your Gift Basket Website and Increase Your Profits. It has received great reviews from my subscribers. I hope it will help yours too.

Good point Andy. There are lots of ways to make your on-line store user friendly. One thing I frequently do is check our links. Nothing is more frustrating than clicking on a link, expecting to see a certain product, and you're somewhere else completely!

I though about it much.

It's weird but a lot of usability mistakes are in checkout process.
A lot of ppl can make a good looking store, but very often you can spend an hour to fill out all that forms..

Lorie,

The suggestion of informing customers about what others purchased in the same category is terrific.

That's part of upselling I always encourage, for it's that type of information that increases the customer's knowledge and ultimate sale.
