Gift Basket Businesses “Marry” Partners
The wedding industry offers gift basket businesses a wealth of opportunities to attract new clients. According to Ellen Terrell, who compiled research for “A Guide to the Wedding Industry”, it is a large industry in terms of dollars. But, it is an industry that is made up of a lot of smaller enterprises, each offering a special service that contributes to the success of the whole venture.
So why not partner with these other “small businesses” to offer your gift basket services to the bride and groom?
Here’s a list of other businesses who provide products and services related to weddings. Visit these businesses in your town to see if you can put together partnerships that will mutually build sales for everyone.
- Florists
- Caterers
- Photographers
- Entertainers
- Travel Agents
- Dress/Bridal Shops
- Tuxedo Rental Shops
- Beauty Parlors
- Jewelers
- Wedding Consultants/Party Planners
- Limousine Rentals
- Hotels
- Bed & Breakfasts
- Restaurants
- Stationary Stores
This can be as simple as leaving your business cards with each of these other service providers. Or you can take brochures, photos, and samples of your work to leave at their place of business. Offer coupons that can be given to prospective clients for discounts at participating “partners”. The “partners” could participate in some local advertising efforts or organize a small bridal fair.
